Most tourists arrive at the Douala and Yaoundé airports before leaving for the trek in the equatorial forest in the south region Cameroon to have orientation and adventure. Here, gorillas and chimpanzees share the forest with pigmies, considered as the oldest inhabitants of Cameroon. The Baka pigmies live in the great equatorial forest,where they are considered great musicians. Enter into the lives of these small men who perform the Buma ritual dance which describes their life in the forest with animals. You will have the chance to participate in village activities.
Situated in the East Region of Cameroon, the Lobéké national park, which is part of the Congo basin, is situated in the far south east of Cameroon. It has a surface area of 217854 Hectars. Created on 19 March 2001, the management of the park falls within the framework of the trans-border conservation initiative known as Sangha Tri-national (TNS). It is a priority conservation landscape of biodiversity, which brings together protected areas of Dzangha-Sangha (CAR) and Nouabalé-Nkoki(Congo-Brazzaville) as well as the Lobéké National Park. Lobéké has a network of swampy clearings particularly on the east wing of the park, it offers safari to lovers of safari to take pictures of elephants, gorillas, chimpanzees, monkeys with the help of miradors at the park, installed near natural saltworks (or beaches) for the observation of animals.
Program :
Day 1. PARIS- YAOUNDE
Arrival at the Yaoundé International Airport from Paris, then transfer to town, settling in at hotel Dinner and night at Hotel .
Day 2. YAOUNDE – AYOS- ABONG BANG- LOMIE
Departure from Yaoundé in the morning for Lomié passing through Ayos and Abong Bang with a beautiful discovery of the Equatorial Forest along the way Arrival in Lomié, settling down at Raphia HOTEL, dinner and night

Day 3. LOMIE- PYGMY CAMP
After breakfast, departure for the pygmy village, arrival, settling in, lunch- discovering and participating in the daily activities of these men who are the first inhabitants of the Equatorial Forest ; introduction to hunting, fishing, harvesting of fruits and traditional medicine. Cultural evening; they will perform their dances; tell tales and legends of the forest around the fire. Dinner and night under the tent- total immersion into nature.
Day 4and 5. PYGMY CAMP 1
Long-day activities with pygmies at the heart of the primary forest: walks in the forest and harvesting of forest fruits, fishing, harvesting medicinal plants, local fishing harvesting honey and other activities. Return to the camp- dinner,
evening around the fire, pygmy buma ritual dance and tales- night under the tent
in the pygmy camp
Day 6 and 7 : PYGMY CAMP 2
Morning wake by singing of birds and noise made by animals- moving(an occasion to trek, walk, discovery in the forest, observation of flora and fauna) from the first camp to go and settle in another village, still in the pygmy area to spend two nights; that is day 6 and 7. Traditional lighting of fire, tapping palm wine- Baka traditional dances- dinner and night in the pigmy camp.
Day 8 : PYGMY CAMP- LOMIE- YOKADOUMA- MAMBELE
Morning wake- breakfast- departure for Lobéké via Lomié- Arrival at Mambélé- settling in at Kombo camp- dinner and night
Day 9 : MAMBELE- LOBEKE
Morning wake- breakfast and departure for the Lobéké National Park ; 4 km drive and 6 km trekking in the forest- arrival and settling in the camp- departure for
the first mirador (small savannah) to observe animals: gorillas of the plain, monkeys, elephants of the forest various birds; parrots, green pigeons- dinner and night under the tent-
Day 10 : SMALL SAVANNAH
Morning wake and breakfast- long-day animal watching on the mirador- return to the camp- dinner and night under the tent
Day 11 : SMALL SAVANNAH- DJANGUI
Breakfast- departure for the second mirador (Djangui)- arrival and settling in the camp- Lunch- departure for the mirador and animal watching: gorillas, buffaloes, elephants, bongos, chimpanzees, monkeys, and a multitude of birds- return to the camp- dinner and night under the tent
Day 12 : DJANGUI- MAMBELE- YOKADOUMA- LOMIE
Morning wake- breakfast- departure for Mambéle and continuation to Yaoundé via Yokadouma- night on the way
Day 13 : LOMIE- YAOUNDE- PARIS
Morning wake- breakfast and departure for Yaoundé- Arrival in Yaoundé- settling in hotel for a day- dinner and departure for Nsimalen International Airport for boarding formalities- take off and end of visit
