Safari In the Lobéké National Park
« Kingdom of the Gorillas »
. Located in the East Cameroon province, Lobéké National Park, which is part of
the Congo Basin, is located in the extreme south-east of Cameroon. It covers an
area of 217,854 ha. Created on March 19, 2001, the management of the Park is
part of the cross-border conservation initiative, known as the Tri-national de la
Sangha (TNS). It is a priority biodiversity conservation landscape which
includes, in addition to the Lobéké National Park, the protected areas of
Dzangha-Sangha (CAR) and Nouabalé-Nkoki (Congo Brazzaville). Lobéké has a
network of marshy clearings, particularly on the eastern side of the park, it
offers Safari enthusiasts the opportunity to film elephants, gorillas,
chimpanzees, monkeys, birds, etc. thanks to the watchtowers available in the
Park, installed near natural saline (bays) to observe the animals.

Day 1. PARIS-YAOUNDE
Arrival and welcome at Yaoundé International Airport.
Transfer and installation at the hotel.
Welcome dinner and night at the hotel.

Day 2. YAOUNDE-BERTOUA
Early wake up, breakfast. Brief city tour and departure for Lobéké National Park
via Bertoua. Dinner and night at the Hotel.

Day 3. BERTOUA-BATOURI-YOKADOUMA
Early wake up, breakfast and departure for Lobéké via Yokadouma.
Discovery of pygmy villages along the way.
Arrival in Mambélé. Installation at the hôtel. Dinner and night.

Day 4. YOKADOUMA-MAMBELE-CAMP KOMBO
Destination Management Company
Early wake up, breakfast and departure for Lobéké National Park via Mambélé.
Arrival check-in. Dinner and overnight at Camp kombo.
Day 5. MAMBELE – SMALL SAVANNAH (Lobéké)
Early wake up, breakfast and departure for Lobéké National Park ; 4 km by car
and 6 km of trekking in the forest. Arrival and installation at the camp ;
Departure for watchtower n°1 (small savannah) to observe the animals:
lowland gorillas, monkeys, forest elephants, various birds; parrots, green
pigeons. Dinner and night in a tent.

Day 6. SMALL SAVANNAH-DJANGUI
Breakfast. Departure for the second watchtower (Djangui). Arrival and
installation at the camp. Lunch. Departure for the watchtower and observation
of animals: gorillas, buffaloes, elephants, Bongos, chimpanzees, monkeys and a
multitude of birds. Return to camp. Dinner and night in a tent

Day 7. DJANGUI
Early wake up, Breakfast. Safari day at the watchtower. Return to camp. Dinner
and overnight in tents.

Day 8. DJANGUI- MAMBELE- YOKADOUMA
Breakfast. Return to where the vehicles are waiting. Lunch. Departure for
Yokadouma via Mambélé. Arrival and installation at the Elephant hotel

Day 9. YOKADOUMA-BERTOUA
Early wake up, breakfast. Departure for Yaoundé. Via Bertoua. Arrival in
Bertoua, installation at the Hotel . Dinner and night.

Day 10. BERTOUA-YAOUNDE-PARIS
Early wake up, breakfast. Return to Paris, via Yaoundé. Arrival in Yaoundé,
installation at the hotel for a Day use. Brief city tour. Return to the hotel.
dinner in a local restaurant. Departure for the airport for boarding formalities.
